Superbird

Mary and Sam are holding hands. (p.48)

「superbird cambridge english readers」の画像検索結果     A spaceship, Superbird crashed on a planet. Mary was one of the crews of it and returned alive to her home. 20 years later, she is talking about her experience on the radio. She saw a brown-haired woman and learned English and manner... Maybe you notice how strange the situation is. She is not human...? At the end of the story, she decides to go to the planet to take back her crew member. I want you to make sure that every creature has the unique community and sense. In addition, you can reach your own idea for Superbird.

This is Cambridge English Readers series. I chose this book for the best book in this semester. Last year, I read this book twice, but I wasn't able to understand the Superbird's purpose and goal. After I tried it this year, I found it interesting points between human and the Superbird. Moreover, it allowed me to enjoy SF stories for the first time. Therefore, even if you aren't interested in them, I recommend you read it.

Logan's choice

‘Were you and your husband happily married’ (p.25)

「logan's choice」の画像検索結果     A dead body is found in a bathroom. He is Alex. Inspector Logan starts searching his house, restaurant and group. When he was alive, he was busy in managing his restaurant and his life seemed to be desirable because he had a beautiful wife and he was popular among customers. Unfortunately, his satisfaction has suffered people. Inspector Logan notices a big fact about him.

This is Cambridge English Readers series. This is the first time I ever read this book when I was a freshman. This typical story plot made me more excited because it’s easier to guess the suspect. However, I want to try more complicated story.

Jojo's story

The fighting is getting nearer. We hear the guns every day now. (p. 43)

「jojo's story」の画像検索結果     Every one in Jojo's village is dead. He can see many familiar dead body around him... He comes across a solder who is a writer and journalist. As he talks with the man longer and longer, they have stronger connection. Jojo decides to see him again even if he is sent to a children's facility.
I found out two strange things. First, the scene which shows Jojo's fear is less than conversation between Jojo and a soldier. I guess a situation in a civil war is familiar for him and he has been sure that his family is killed someday. Second, Jojo decides to fight holding a gun. This is terrible for me, but his loyalty for his village or family is so brave. Therefore, this scene emphasizes the change from a child to an adult.

This is Cambridge English Readers series. This shocking story and pictures give us how comfortable Japan is. The common thing depends on a country, but if you compare this story with Japan, you can reach a new idea.

The Boxers

You must be sure that Mrs Radman murdered her brother. (p. 37)

「The boxers penguin readers」の画像検索結果     Michael was murdered by someone, so the judge held court. His sister, Jennifer is said to have killed his brother because of their father's asset. She is always tired of money trouble and relationship. There are a lot of witnesses for the prosecution. You are supposed to be the one of spectators or jury. Although you can get tips for the solution, there is no answer in the ending. Therefore, we can't reach a certain decision. It's up to you.

This is Penguin Readers series. I've never read this kind of book which has no specific ending. In other words, you can decide whether she is guilty or not. In this book, I want you to have a time as a jury, not just a reader.
