Les Miserable

Today I read Le Miserable, YL 2.0 from Oxford Bookworms Library series. Les Miserable is french for unhappy poor people. The novel was written in 1862, and the story has been retold many times in a musical, in the plays for radio and theater, and in more than fifty films for television and cinemas. This story scene is France, 1815. There are many poor people and they are seen as bad people. A poor man,  John is one of the these peole and he escapes the prison. What kind of life does he have ?
